Some things I like (updated regularly)
MAKEUP - "Almost Lipstick" in Black Honey by Clinique
Several years ago I ran across a handful of unrelated recommendations for this lipstick online. I had been looking for a new lipstick so I decided to try this, and I have been wearing it ever since. This lipstick wears like a gloss and gives your lips a lush, stained look in a color that seems to work for nearly everyone.
BATH PRODUCT - "Hand Made Honey and Almond Soap" from "The Bath Station" in Columbus, MS
I have used this soap for several years now and it's still puppy love. It has tiny little flecks of almond pitts that act as an exfoliant, and the soap leaves you and your shower smelling like warm honey after you use it. Wonderful for when you want to smell delicious.
BOOK - "Sweetness in the Belly" by Camilla Gibb
As frequently happens, I was attracted to this book by its cover while browsing in a bookstore recently. The jacket text intrigued me, as it described a subject different from anything I had read before. I took the book home and read it through in two evenings. I loved this tale of a girl named Lily, stranded in Morocco as a child and raised Muslim, who was forced to flee the Ethiopian revolution just as she was making the transition into adulthood. To go into too much detail would spoil the story, so I will just say it was unlike anything I have ever read, and I can not recommend it highly enough.
